Assistant Dean of Academic Enhancement
St. George’s University’s Department of Educational Services (DES) supports student learning and faculty development through high-impact, evidence-based programs. As one of the largest and most active departments on campus, DES serves both students and faculty with initiatives designed to enhance academic performance and instructional effectiveness.
DES offers a range of integrated programs that promote proactive retention and academic success. Peer learning and academic enhancement initiatives foster collaboration and engagement, while individualized learning strategy services help students strengthen their learning and testing skills. Faculty-led supplemental learning sessions support undergraduate science students in developing foundational knowledge and study techniques. The Specialized English Language Program (SELP) builds communication and writing proficiency, and the Faculty Development Program (LEAD) equips educators with effective instructional tools and best practices. Together, these initiatives reflect DES’s close partnership with the Dean of basic sciences and the Office of Student Affairs in advancing academic excellence and student success.
