The Four-Year MD program is academically rigorous and with a demanding class, small group, laboratory, clinical and study schedule. Some students succeed with extended timelines. The SGUSOM is committed to offering all students the support they need to succeed.
Students in Term 1-5 courses have a number of services available to them designed to support learning and to help them succeed in medical school. In addition to the support available through the academic department, support services are also include services offered by the Department of Education Services (DES), Psychological Services Center (PSC) and Student Health Services. The Academic Advising and Development Support (AADS) unit in the Senior Associate Dean of Basic Sciences Office coordinates the advising system for the basic sciences.
