Effective January 1, 2022, the requirements for the Master in Basic Medical Sciences degree were revised based on the recommendation of the faculty and approval of the Curriculum Committee.
To qualify for the degree, students must successfully complete the required courses listed below:

| Term 4 | PCM 500 | Principles of Clinical Medicine I | 23 |
A student may be eligible to receive the degree under either of the following circumstances:
- The student voluntarily withdraws from the University after successfully completing all required courses listed above.
- The student is recommended for dismissal from the University in Term 5 or during the clinical years and their appeal to the Committee for Academic Progress and Professional Standards (CAPPS) is unsuccessful.
Application Requirements
To request consideration for the degree:
- Students must complete the Master in Basic Medical Sciences Application
- Students must enter their name and email address on the PowerForm signer information page before the application becomes available.
- Completed applications are submitted electronically to the Office of the University Registrar for review.
- Students must have no outstanding holds on their records.
- For students dismissed following an unsuccessful CAPPS appeal, eligibility information and a link to the application are included in the CAPPS decision letter.
