The bioethics master’s programs are designed to equip students to conduct and publish bioethics research, educate students for service on and to provide training for Internal Review Boards (IRB) and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committees (IACUC), and to contribute to clinical ethics committees and reviews. The program provides flexibility and support tailored to each student's professional needs. Students may apply directly from a bachelor’s degree program, from SGU’s SOM or SVM programs, or from professional employment. The program offers opportunities for practical experience in teaching, research, editorial, and ethics committee work. The program is highly collaborative and underpinned by an interprofessional culture. The master’s in bioethics embraces the One Health approach to bioethics education and research, is interactive, and values diversity. The design caters to student-centric interactive teaching, can be completed online either part-time or full-time, and with a flexible timeline.
