The master’s in education degree is focused on curriculum, pedagogy, and leadership for experienced educators seeking deeper theoretical and practical knowledge to become change agents in their field. In this program, students have the opportunity to tailor coursework and research to their context, whether in primary, secondary, or tertiary schools, governmental or non-governmental agencies, or medical education. This program is designed for working professionals and has a combination of in-person and online learning experiences.
The program offers three specializations:
Global Educator – an educator who has the knowledge, professional skills, attributes, and commitment to help learners develop global competencies and citizenship;
Inclusive Educator – an educator who is professionally prepared to serve in a variety of roles in the health field. The Inclusive Educator is specifically trained to use appropriate educational strategies and methods to facilitate the development of policies, procedures, interventions, and systems conducive to the health of individuals, groups, and communities; and
Medical Educator – an educator who is a member of the medical fraternity with training and degrees in areas such as medicine, dentistry, and veterinary practice. The Medical Educator has developed the teaching and the research competencies to make distinct connections between theory and practice of education in the medical field.
