My UK Experience – Tiffanii Smith

Tiffanii Smith

Expected Graduation Date: January 2026

The start of my first rotation was a very euphoric experience. I felt nervous and excited about the journey ahead, but also anxious of what I knew it required from me. Being in the UK alone meant that I had to become my own cheerleader when close family and friends were not easily accessible as I was once used to. I must admit that I was terrified inside while displaying a smile on the outside. Upon arrival to Stoke Mandeville Hospital meeting my coordinator Safiyah Shah, her manager Karen Blackmore and the team at the postgraduate center I was showered with loads of impeccable hospitality! The fellow students who were also rotating there all welcomed me with open arms. I immediately knew then that I would be able to succeed with my newfound support from the UK cohort.
