Required Web-Based Activities

Completion of web-based activities and modules is part of the educational requirements during clinical rotations. These activities provide structure for protected academic time and independent learning. The School makes these resources available through the learning management system. Each core clerkship and the required Family Medicine rotation include corresponding web-based activities that students must complete.

UWorld

During the first week of the first clerkship, students receive instructions for accessing the UWorld question bank. Students must complete all assigned questions in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Surgery during the corresponding clerkship. Student must complete a minimum of 600 questions during the Internal Medicine clerkship.

AMBOSS

SGUSOM uses the digital medical resource AMBOSS to support the core clerkships and required Family Medicine rotation.
The SGU study portal on the AMBOSS platform is aligned with the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) content outline and provides structured weekly study plans, mandatory quizzes, and educational resources to support clerkship learning and preparation for Mid-Core Exams and the NBME Clinical Subject Examinations. The platform also tracks student participation and progress, identifying areas of proficiency and those requiring improvement.

Students must activate their accounts on the SOM AMBOSS study portal at the start of each rotation and complete the required quizzes.
