More than 1,500 clinical faculty based at over 80 affiliated hospitals support the clinical training of SGUSOM students. In addition, more than 50 SGU administrators, physicians, and staff coordinate clinical placements and assist students throughout the third and fourth years of medical school.
SGUSOM offers comprehensive academic advising, career guidance, US residency application assistance, guidance for students pursuing postgraduate training outside the US, and behavioral health and wellness services.
The Clinical Academic Advising, Development, and Support division provides academic advising and support throughout the clinical curriculum. The Office of Career Guidance assists with career planning and preparation for postgraduate training. The Office of the Dean, the Office of the Senior Associate Dean of Clinical Studies, and the Office of Student Affairs are available to address other academic and personal concerns. Directors of medical education, clerkship directors, preceptors, medical education coordinators, and clinical faculty at clinical sites also provide guidance and support.
