Communication Requirements

Students are responsible for ensuring that SGUSOM can contact them at all times. They must notify the Office of the University Registrar of any change in contact information as soon as possible. Students must monitor their SGU email and respond to all university communications throughout their enrolment, including academic terms, term breaks, clinical rotations, vacations, leaves of absence, clinical bridge time, and the period awaiting graduation.

Failure to Comply

Failure to monitor, respond to, or act on communications sent by SGU, including those sent through SGU email, is considered unprofessional behavior. This includes failure to attend mandatory meetings required by the Office of the Dean of Medicine; Office of Student Affairs; Office of the Senior Associate Dean of Basic Sciences; Office of the Senior Associate Dean of Clinical Studies; Academic Advising, Development, and Support; course and clerkship directors; directors of medical education, or other authorized administrative bodies or individuals.

Such unprofessional behavior may adversely affect performance and grades and may result in a recommendation for dismissal or an administrative withdrawal from the University.
