Mission Statement
The SGS aims to achieve and sustain excellence in all graduate programs, courses, research, and scholarly activities, to evolve its reputation as a world-class higher education program, and to enrich international, national, and regional communities through the outcomes of its programs and the skills of its graduates.
The SGS mission is to:
- provide support for faculty to pursue innovative research, develop a research record, and forge close links with the wider academic world, the professions, industry, and commerce;
- promote challenging and rigorous graduate teaching opportunities which benefit from interaction with the research environment;
- facilitate exchange of ideas through seminars, small-group learning, and collaborative research to enable graduates to contribute to national and international developments relevant to health and the environment;
- protect intellectual property rights and nurture personal development within a stimulating, multidisciplinary academic community; and
- actively pursue applications from students from diverse backgrounds to extend further the many and varied opportunities for life-long learning available through St George’s University.
