The APRC reviews all deficient grades, and appropriate avenues for remediation are determined for each student based on the guidelines provided herein.

| 1 | Students who receive a Satisfactory "S" grade in all course units will be in good academic standing. |
| 2 | Academic advancement will be based on satisfactory grades ("S") in all courses in the SGU SVM curriculum. |
| 3 | Students who receive an unsatisfactory "U" grade in either a course unit or a course will be in placed on MAS. |
| 4 | MAS will continue for a minimum of one (1) term. The APRC can extend the duration of MAS based on individual student performance. |
| 5 | Students who receive an unsatisfactory "U" grade in either a course unit(s) or in a course will require remediation. |
| 6 | Students who receive an satisfactory "S" grade in a course unit(s) cannot opt to take a resit exam to "improve" the grade. |
| 7 | Remediation of an unsatisfactory grade (āUā) may be by a re-sit examination, if permitted, or by repeating the course (following the guidelines listed below). Students have a maximum of three (3) resit examinations and a maximum of two (2) repeats during Terms 1-6. Exceeding this will lead to a recommendation for dismissal. |
| 8 | Taking a re-sit examination counts as one remediation attempt. Obtaining an unsatisfactory grade ("U") on a re-sit examination automatically mandates a repeat of the course. Repeating the course will count as a second remediation |
| 9 | The total number of remediations cannot exceed three (3) through Terms 1 to 6. |
