Vaccinations and Immunisation Requirements

Most hospitals have their own Occupational Health requirements with which you must comply.

Frequently this involves the completion and return of the hospital’s own health questionnaire prior to travelling to the UK. All hospitals require documentary evidence of your immunity to Hepatitis B and proof of vaccinations against Rubella and Poliomyelitis. If your health records are not complete you will not be able to enter the UK Clinical Programme. Students are responsible for producing written proof of immunisation programmes undertaken and dates. If you are not able to do this you will be responsible for the cost of a titre or the immunisation and you may not be allowed to participate in clinical work until the appropriate documentation is provided. It is therefore imperative that you comply with the requirements of the individual hospitals as specified on the information sheet that you will receive with your placement information.
