SGISM Mentoring Programme in the UK

The SGISM mentoring programme for students in the UK was launched at the beginning of October 2014. The objective of this mentoring programme is to promote the development of self-confidence and professional achievement for you to progress through your Clinical training and thereafter in your chosen career paths. As mentoring relationships in both Universities and Medical Schools in the US and UK have been proven to be an excellent way to enhance professional growth, St George’s International School of Medicine (SGISM) strongly supports mentoring activities. SGISM have compiled two handbooks – one for mentors and one for mentees as part of the SGISM Mentoring Programme. All the necessary administration needed for the mentoring scheme is provided in the SGISM Mentee and Mentor booklets which are available on the UK Clinical Programme section of the SGUSOM website. The mentoring scheme provides  support to you in addition to the support offered by the Office of Career Guidance. In addition, to this voluntary mentorship scheme the UK Faculty provide tutorials for NBME exams and UWorld questions to support the students.
